Now that Easter has come and gone, the next part of the year (for those of a certain age) is exam season. It always seems to be the same; just as the weather starts to get better, the more time is needed for study.
Like Christmas and all ‘holidays’ throughout the year, the level of stress seems to be higher during these so-called ‘holidays’ than at ordinary times. When you think about it though, it is really not surprising: the children are off from school, there’s shopping that needs to be done, family may be round for lunch and there is so much to do preparing this, the need for umpteenth social visits and maybe even a whole lot of travelling up and down the land.
Losing your job is probably the most stressful life experience after moving house. Sadly, in some situations the two are too closely linked. I don’t want to sound too gloomy but this seems to be an all too frequent situation across much of the world, with many countries (including here in Britain), recording very high unemployment rates.
